The nation has been voting for their favourite dog breed, with heartfelt stories being sent in filled with love and thanks. The results were counted, the full list can be viewed <here>.

I remember collecting my daughter from school and over-hearing the playground discussion, “competition is bad for our children” that they “shouldn’t award goals to stop there being a “winning’ and a ‘losing’ team”, “it’s participation thats important not winning” …
I couldn’t understand it, confused at how that made any sense, of course there should be goals, a score, and winners!
t’s made me laugh how now with my own beloved companions, and a list of the nations favourite dogs I finally think “hold on, they are ALL winners, Its participating that counts!”

We are a nation of dog lovers, each one of our beloved companions is special. cherished, and our own favourite.

The truth I do not stretch or shove
When I state that the dog is full of love.
I’ve also found, by actual test,
A wet dog is the lovingest.
